Logging in to your Back Office
When you first purchase your UK-Web website, you will be emailed with the login details for your Back Office, a secure online console through which you can control everything to do with your website.
If you have not received this email, then please contact us now.
Before you start
- To preview your website, click on the globe symbol on the menu bar at the top of your Back Office. This will load your home page.
- Any change you make in your Back Office will be immediately updated on your front end website.
Editing content
Now, let's edit the content:
- Click on the Customise icon. This will take you to your Site Content page. You will see a "site map" of the pages currently in your site. The ones which are currently live will be shown in bold.
- Hover the mouse over the Home Page (in the site map) and then click on the Edit Content button. You can change the content on this page by using the inbuilt Editor. Click Save Changes to record any changes you have made.
Adding new content
Now, let's add some new content:
- Click on Customise. In the site map, click on Add Inner Page. Enter a name for the page in the box provided (at the top). Select the location for this page from the dropdown menu (selecting Root will add the page to the main menu). Click Save Changes.
- Now add some content to the page using the inbuilt Editor and save any changes.
- Click on the Meta Tags tab to view the page Title and metatags (used by search engines as the link text back to your site). Add a Title for the page and a brief description then save any changes.
- Click on the Page Settings tab to alter the settings for this page AND add any additional content using the drag-and-drop interface. When you have finished save the changes.
